Nigerian Varsities Set 150 as 2025 Admission Cut-Off—VCs Announce New Benchmark!
Leaders of universities at the 2025 policy meeting organized by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board established the minimum admission cut-off threshold for universities at 150 on Tuesday.
This implies that JAMB will not allow any university in the country to admit candidates who score below 150 in the 2025 Unified Tertiary and Matriculation Examination.
Nonetheless, some institutions, such as the University of Ibadan, Pan-Atlantic University, and the University of Lagos, have set their admission thresholds at 200.
The PUNCH reports that some newly established private universities suggested a UTME score of 120.
Meanwhile, the Registrar of JAMB, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, recommended a minimum score of 160.
