UNIJOS ASUU Declares Strike Over Unpaid Salaries—Academic Activities Suspended!

The Academic Staff Union of Universities at the University of Jos (UNIJOS ASUU) has instructed its members to initiate a strike due to the failure to receive salaries for June 2025.

The union’s chairman, Prof. Jurbe Molwus, issued this directive in a message distributed to union members on Thursday night.

The communication stated, “Dear Comrades, we request that all members refrain from lectures and official meetings if our salary for June 2025 is not deposited by 11:59 PM today, July 3, 2025.

“This aligns with the current NEC resolution that states ‘branches should take action when salaries are unpaid by the third day of a new month’ and is also by our congress resolution from June 4, 2025, confirming this stance.

“The strike will commence at 12:01 AM on Friday, July 4, 2025.
