JAMB has opened its portal for candidates to change course, institution and other errors in personal details submitted during registration.

This post will give you a comprehensive guide on the JAMB process to change personal details in your Name, Date of Birth, Gender, State/LGA of Origin, and course or institution selection.

What is JAMB Change of  Course and Institution?

JAMB Change of Course and Institution allows you to change the initial choice of course or institution chosen during UTME registration.

Who is eligible For JAMB change of course & institution?

Anyone who wrote the 2024 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) exam and seen their results.

Anyone who wish to switch to another course or institution different from the one chosen initially during registration.

Anyone who wants to correct errors in personal details submitted during registration.

Note that all corrections must be made personally; no one can make this corrections for you as  you need to thumbprint.

Categories of JAMB Personal Details Correction

These are the categories for which you can make corrections:

JAMB results can neither be changed or upgraded, take note!

  • JAMB email and phone number used during registration.
  • Date of Birth
  • Names Correction:  This allows you to change spelling or arrangement mistakes in your name. it can be your First name, Surname or  Last name.

The correction to the name in question can not be more than one or two letters.

However, if it is a total change of name, be aware that JAMB does not substitute names. you can’t completely change your name or make significant alterations to it. For example, you can’t go from being Grace to Stella or from Emeka to Chinedu.

Also, you can’t add or delete a name that you’ve already registered with JAMB. So, for instance, you can’t go from being  David Emeka Eze to just David Emeka.

  • Gender Correction: you can request for change of Gender. Supporting documents may be required. An indemnity form will be downloaded, printed, filled and submitted for Approval.
  • State/LGA Correction: You can apply for correction of State/Local Government. Supporting documents will be required. An indemnity form will be downloaded, printed, filled and submitted at for Approval.

Details That can be Changed Multiple Times.

  1. Choice of Institution/Course Correction: You can change your choice of course or institution. You can change this multiple by paying the fee.

Cost for Correction of  Personal Details

The cost for making corrections , is N2,500 (two thousand five hundred naira only) but the CBT centers might incur extra charges.

  • Your JAMB profile Email and Password
  • JAMB Registration Number
  • Phone Number
  • JAMB profile code
  • 2,500

How to do Change of Course and Institution

Follow these steps to apply for JAMB change of Institution at a JAMB CBT Center:

  1. Visit any nearest JAMB CBT Center.
  2. Request for the JAMB Change of Institution Form
  3. Make Payment of N2,500
  4. Make the corrections
  5. Thumbprint
  6. The JAMB officer will effect the changes
  7. Collect your JAMB change of Institution printout

How to Carry Out JAMB Data corrections on your phone.

  1. Visit the JAMB portal at https://efacility.jamb.gov.ng/.
  2. Login with your Email and Password.
  3. Click on ‘Registration (2024 only)’ from the list of services on the left side.
  4. From the drop-down, select ‘2024 UTME Data Correction’ / ‘2024 DE Data Correction’ as your case may be.
  5. Proceed with the payment.
  6. After payment, visit the closest JAMB office or a JAMB accredited center to complete the correction process.

Note that after making the corrections on your phone you still need to visit an accredited JAMB center to thumbprint and complete the process.

JAMB Change of Institution Closing Date 2024/2025

JAMB is yet to state the closing date for this exercise but note that some schools Postume form will soon be out. Change your details as soon as possible.
