2025 UTME Results Align with 12-Year Performance Trend — JAMB Confirms
Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, has explained that the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) performance data are consistent with outcomes from the previous 12 years.
Oloyede clarified that this year’s results were not out of the ordinary in response to public worries.
Approximately 1.5 million of the 1.9 million candidates who took the UTME scored lower than 200, he said in an interview with the newsmen on Wednesday in Abuja.
However, he emphasized that these outcomes are not out of the ordinary and are consistent with past trends.
“This is not an unusual occurrence this year. “The performance metrics align with the previous 12 years,” he stated.
When asked why individual results were not released sooner, the JAMB Registrar clarified that it was because some candidates were still going through a review procedure.
Since that step of the procedure is over, we have published the overall statistics but have not yet made the individual findings public.
The situations of a few candidates who have borderline concerns are presently being reviewed. We must decide if their findings should be made public or kept confidential.
After that is finished, which should be tomorrow, we will make the individual findings public.
