At several Computer-Based Test (CBT) locations in Awka, the Anambra capital, the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) formally began on Thursday.
The examination was proceeding without incident, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) correspondent who kept an eye on events at multiple locations in Awka and the surrounding environs.
The Integral Development Consult (IDK) on the Enugu/Onitsha Expressway, the White House in Awka, the Grafil Center, and Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Awka are a few of the locations visited.
Kachukwu Ventures Staff Development Center, located behind Government House in Awka, and St. John of God ICT Hub, Awka, were among the others.
Additionally, according to NAN, candidates are admitted to the exam centers in three batches: at 7:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m., and 12:00 p.m.
Candidates said the process at the St. John of God ICT Hub went smoothly and without any significant hiccups.
A candidate who participated in the exam, Miss Ifeoma Mbah, commended JAMB and the center’s administrators for establishing a calm and comfortable setting for the test.
“I’m rather happy that I’m writing the UTME for the first time. Everything was well-organized, the computers worked as intended, and the quiet environment made it easier for me to focus. “I tried my hardest,” she remarked.
With the exception of a few candidates who arrived late, the exam at the Grafil Centre was seen to be going well. One candidate, Michael Nnaji, explained that he arrived late because he had to travel from a far-off town and encountered transportation issues.
By the time I arrived, the exam had already begun. “I sincerely hope and pray that the officials will allow me to reschedule,” he stated.
Ezekiel Okpala, another applicant, stated that he was taking the UTME for the second time and that he was still optimistic about getting accepted to college.
I’m taking the UTME for the second time. I was better equipped to handle the inquiries thanks to my increased experience.
He declared, “I’m hopeful that I’ll pass and get admitted this time.”
The JAMB UTME began on April 24 and is scheduled to conclude on May 5. According to NAN, at least two million aspirants are anticipated to take the test.
The authorized Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers were observed to be guarded and monitored by Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps officials.
