About the Faculty of Engineering UNN

In 1961, it was formally known as the College of Engineering, When the college was founded, it was renamed the Faculty of Engineering, and it became the country’s first engineering faculty in a university in Nigeria.

Prof. J.A. Veltrop was the first dean of this great faculty. Prof. Emenike Ejiogu, an electrical engineering professor, is the current dean of this faculty. The faculty has had twenty-five deans since its founding. Senior lecturers and above make up half of the academic personnel. The eight departments have a combined total of 2438 students.
