The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has opened online registration for candidates seeking admission through Direct Entry (DE) into all undergraduate programmes for the 2026/2027 academic year.

According to the university’s official registration notice, the exercise began on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 and will close on Tuesday, September 22, 2026. At publication, the deadline is nine calendar days away, so candidates should complete the process early rather than wait for the final day.

The registration is for Direct Entry applicants who already made UNILAG their first-choice institution in the 2026/2027 JAMB Direct Entry application. It is not the same as the earlier UTME Post-UTME screening exercise.

Who can register?

The exercise is intended for candidates who made the University of Lagos their first choice in the 2026/2027 JAMB Direct Entry application. Candidates who selected another institution should not assume that they can register for UNILAG DE screening without first resolving their JAMB choice status.

UNILAG also requires eligible applicants to have five relevant O’Level credit passes at one sitting, including English Language and Mathematics. The relevant subjects can depend on the course or programme selected, so applicants should check their qualification against the programme requirements before paying.

Applicants must be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2026. The university says candidates who will not have reached that age by the stated date are not eligible for this exercise.

Direct Entry qualifications accepted for upload

The official notice lists several qualifications and results that may apply to DE candidates, including:

  • National Diploma (ND)
  • Higher National Diploma (HND)
  • National Certificate in Education (NCE)
  • First Degree
  • JUPEB
  • Cambridge A’ Level
  • SDA and other listed diploma qualifications
  • Relevant O’Level results

Do not upload every document you have without checking what is relevant to the admission route and programme. The qualification used for your Direct Entry application should match the information in your JAMB records and supporting documents.

Important checks before you submit

  • Confirm first-choice status: UNILAG’s notice is for candidates who made the university first choice in the 2026/2027 DE JAMB application.
  • Check your qualification: Make sure your ND, HND, NCE, degree, JUPEB, A’ Level or other DE qualification is valid and relevant to the programme.
  • Match your records: Names, date of birth, state and Local Government Area should be consistent across your JAMB record, results and application form.
  • Prepare clear uploads: Use readable files and confirm that each uploaded result belongs to you before submission.
  • Keep proof of payment: Save the payment advice, transaction evidence, application slip and any portal confirmation page.
  • Use the official route: Start from the UNILAG notice or type the official portal address yourself. Avoid agents promising guaranteed admission or asking for extra charges.

What if you have a problem with the portal?

UNILAG’s notice provides the following contacts for clarification: deapplication@unilag.edu.ng, 09053006772 and 08141656802. Contact the university directly if your DE registration number does not work, a required qualification is missing from the upload options, or your payment is not reflected.

Take a screenshot or print the error message when reporting a problem. Include your application details only through the university’s official channels; do not post your JAMB registration number publicly in social-media comments or send it to an unverified intermediary.
