TETFUND Achieves Milestone: 687 Projects Completed Across Nigeria in Just Two Years!

The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) has completed at least 687 capital projects across several Nigerian tertiary institutions in the past two years.

Mr. Sonny Echono, the executive secretary of the fund, shared this information during the foundation-laying event for the N4 billion Senate Building at the Federal University Kashere (FUK) on Friday.

Echono mentioned that these projects align with the current administration of President Bola Tinubu’s objectives to enhance the standard of tertiary education in the country through the establishment of suitable infrastructure.

He noted that President Tinubu approved the Senate building project at FUK as part of his strategic investments in higher education.

“TETFund is firmly dedicated to providing institutions like FUK with the essential resources needed for their growth and success.

“In just the past two and a half years, we have completed and inaugurated 687 capital projects at various higher education institutions throughout Nigeria,” he stated.

Prof. Umaru Pate, the Vice-Chancellor of FUK, praised TETFUND for endorsing the Senate building initiative, revealing that the fund has also finished constructing the postgraduate hostel under the 2022 TETFUND annual intervention.

He further acknowledged the establishment of a lecture theater with a capacity for 500 students, alongside the construction and furnishing of the College of Medical Sciences Complex, among other contributions from the fund.

In his speech, President Bola Tinubu, represented by Minister for Health and Social Welfare Prof. Ali Pate, who laid the cornerstone for the N4 billion Senate building at the university, reiterated his administration’s pledge to widen access to quality higher education throughout Nigeria.

He emphasized that universities not only create opportunities for academic excellence but also act as drivers for socio-economic growth.
