VC says the Taraba University staff ASUU strike will shortly come to an end.

Prof. Sunday Bako, the vice chancellor of Taraba State University, announced on Tuesday that the ASUU strike employees and the state administration have nearly achieved a deal to resume work.

Bako told reporters about the development in his Jalingo office.

The Vice-Chancellor claims that following a fruitful weekend meeting between the government and non-academic workers, he has requested that the union leaders draft a statement outlining their findings and submit it to him for approval before distributing it to their members.

He revealed that the halted exams had been formally rescheduled by the institution to take place on Monday, January 27, 2025.

We think the non-academic workers will also end their strike because we have nearly achieved a deal with them. The institution has formally rescheduled the suspended exams to resume on Monday, January 27, 2025, in light of the event.

Governor Agbu Kefas was praised by Prof. Bako for his unusual dedication to finding a speedy solution to the Union’s problems.

Additionally, he expressed gratitude to the Tertiary Education Ministry for their unwavering efforts to guarantee that all of the Union’s demands for an uninterrupted academic calendar would be met.
