Over 73,000 Candidates Absent from 2025 Mock UTME — JAMB Reveals Shocking Stats!
According to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), 73,844 individuals did not appear for the 2025 mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination despite having enrolled.
“A total of 200,115 candidates initially expressed interest in participating; however, two candidates later withdrew, resulting in 200,113 registered candidates,” said Fabian Benjamin, JAMB spokesperson, in a statement released on Sunday.
Of those who registered, 88 candidates failed the biometric verification screening, while 73,844 did not attend the exam.
As a consequence, 126,181 individuals took the test successfully, and the results for 115,735 of them are currently accessible. Furthermore, 10,446 results are still being processed and will be made available shortly.
Benjamin clarified that the purpose of the optional mock UTME is to test novel ideas and assist applicants in getting ready for the real examination.
“As a trial version of the UTME, the mock exam helps candidates get acquainted with the CBT environment while enabling the board to test innovations,” the board stated.
