Oluyole LGA Begins Free CBT Training for 750 WAEC Students
In preparation for the 2026 West African Examination Council (WAEC) exam, the executive chairman of Oluyole Local Government, Engineer Akeem Olatunji, has announced the start of free Computer Based Test (CBT) training for more than 750 SS3 students in public schools.
This is in line with his electoral pledge to the Oluyole Local Government’s constituents to provide high-quality education and improve academic learning abilities through digital literacy for the local populace.
Students arrive in the hall with a mixture of curiosity and resolve for the daily training, which started on Monday, December 8, at Methodist High School, Toll Gate.
The effort, according to the Council chief, provides many of the young pupils with their first formal exposure to the format, as WAEC is scheduled to completely implement CBT starting next year.
According to Olatunji, the program is a useful step in enhancing digital literacy at the local level.
He pointed out that in an era where technology continues to play a major role in daily life, workplaces, and exams, students cannot fall behind.
According to him, the lessons are designed to boost self-assurance and reduce the anxiety that frequently accompanies using unfamiliar platforms during such a test.
“The move fits into Governor Seyi Makinde’s overall drive to expand access to quality education and modern learning tools across Oyo State,” he stated.
“Oluyole LG has continuously pushed for initiatives that enhance academic outcomes and give public school students a fairer chance, aligning our goal for quality education with that vision.”
Olunde Community Secondary School in Jogbin, Ayegun Community Grammar School in Ayegun, Prospect High School in Abanla, Faruku Community Grammar School in Soka, and the host school, Methodist High School in Toll Gate, all participated in the flag-off on the first day.
“The training sessions start at 9 a.m. every day and run through Friday. Olatunji continued, “By the end of the week, we hope that every participating student will have not only technical skills but also a sense of readiness as they approach a new era of examinations starting in 2026.”
A few educators and pupils who took part in the flag-off said they were thrilled at the chance. They praised the head of the Council for always putting his people’s wellbeing first without discriminating against the underprivileged.
They promised to make the most of the chance in order to achieve the best results, which will ensure that they pass the WAEC exam in 2026.
