NYSC Appoints New State Coordinator in Anambra — Fresh Leadership Unveiled!
Mrs. Pauline Ojisua, the 15th person to serve as the State Coordinator for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Anambra State, has formally replaced Mrs. Blessing Ekene Iruma.
Outgoing Coordinator Iruma stressed the value of upholding the high standards set during her term during a ceremonial transfer ceremony on Wednesday at the NYSC State Secretariat in Awka.
“I urge you to extend the same high level of cooperation you gave me to the new coordinator,” she said, urging the management team to back the new leadership.
During her speech, Mrs. Ojisua discussed her outlook for the future and thanked everyone for the warm reception. She promised to run an inclusive and open administration and reassured guests that the well-being of Corps members and staff would be a top priority for her administration.
She declared, “I will have an open-door policy to promote transparency and inclusivity.”
The symbolic exchange of paperwork, which signified a seamless leadership transition, was part of the event, which was attended by NYSC management staff and other stakeholders.
The new NYSC head has made courtesy calls to important individuals as part of her familiarization tours, such as Engr. Martin Agblili, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Youth Development. According to Ojisua, the purpose of the tour was to deepen relations with the government of Anambra State and other important partners.
Ojisua also visited with community leaders and traditional leaders, including the Onowu of Umuawulu and Igwe Dr. Joel Maduadichie Egwuonwu (Eze-Udo II) of Nibo, acknowledging the value of community cooperation in NYSC operations.
She visited with President General Barr. Chris Ekweozor and Professor Emma Ezenwaji are in charge of the towns that host the NYSC Orientation Camp.
She also strengthened the NYSC’s links with one of its host communities by making a courtesy visit to the palace of Igwe Dr. Patrick Nwokike Anugwu, the Ezeukwu of Mbaukwu.
Ojisua reaffirmed, “These engagements highlight my dedication to cultivating strong relationships with traditional institutions and stakeholders essential to NYSC operations in the state.”
She added that she hoped her leadership would bring about new projects that would enhance the welfare of personnel in Anambra State and the experience of corps members.
“Under my leadership, I encourage everyone to look forward to a period of continued progress and strengthened community relations,” she said.
