The National Universities Commission has granted full academic accreditation to Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai’s Accounting program (NUC).
The Commission’s Director of Accreditation, Dr Maryam Sali, stated in a letter addressed to the Visitor to the University and copied to the Vice-Chancellor, that the approval, which includes Public Administration and Transport Management, is the result of an exercise conducted in the University late last year by the Commission as part of its statutory mandate to accredit academic programs in the nation’s Universities.
The letter also stated that the full accreditation is valid for five years.
Commenting on the outcome, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abu Kasim Adamu, expressed gratitude to the Niger State Government, led by the Visitor to the University, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, for the financial support provided to the University for the exercise, and expressed anticipation of future assistance, which will include additional programs.
Similarly, the Vice-Chancellor thanked the Ministry of Tertiary Education, Science, and Technology, led by the Honourable Commissioner, Professor Abubakar Baba Aliyu, for all of their encouragement and support.
It would be recalled that the National Universities Commission organised the accreditation exercise of academic programmes in the University in October/November 2021 to ascertain their viability.
