NELFUND Alerts Students on Fake Loan Portal Scam

The Nigerian Education Loan Fund has warned the public about a fraudulent message spreading online. This message falsely claims that the NELFUND Student Loan Registration Portal is now open.

The communication tells applicants to visit a third-party link (http://gvly.xyz/Nelfund-Student-Loan), which the Nigerian Education Loan Fund has confirmed is unauthorized and a scam.

In a post shared on its X account on Tuesday, the Nigerian Education Loan Fund advised students and the public not to click the link or share any personal information. They emphasized that the real loan registration portal is only available through the Fund’s official channels.

The agency reminded applicants to stay alert online and report any suspicious links or messages that seem to be from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund.

“Applicants should always verify official announcements through NELFUND’s official website and social media platforms,” said the Nigerian Education Loan Fund.

This warning is part of NELFUND’s ongoing effort to safeguard students and maintain the integrity of the student loan application process.
