NELFUND Disburses Over ₦72 Million in Student Loans to 3 Institutions — See Benefiting Schools!

1,607 students have benefited from more than N72 million in student loans from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, which has been distributed across three postsecondary schools.

The Federal College of Education in Obudu, Abdulkadir Kure University in Minna, and Adamawa State University in Mubi were all given the grant, which was intended to lessen the financial strain of tuition fees.

NELFUND reiterated its dedication to helping students at Nigerian postsecondary institutions in a statement released on Tuesday.

The statement said, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s dedication to expanding educational opportunities and lowering financial obstacles for students nationwide is demonstrated by this disbursement.”

The Federal College of Education in Obudu was given N21,789,500 in two installments, according to NELFUND.

215 students received N14,320,500 from the first batch, which was given in October 2024, and 107 students received N7,469,000 from the second batch, which was distributed on March 5, 2025.

N2,900,000 was given to Abdulkadir Kure University in Minna to pay for nine students’ tuition.

The university acknowledged receipt of the donations and conveyed gratitude for the gesture in an acknowledgment letter written by Dr. Garba Abdullahi, the registrar of the institution.

With the largest allocation of N47,621,121, Adamawa State University in Mubi benefited 1,283 students.

Dr. Ibrahim Bwatanglang, the institution’s acting vice-chancellor, acknowledged the payment and conveyed the hope that the two organizations will continue to work together in future batches.

The Federal College of Education, Obudu’s administration praised NELFUND for carrying out the project successfully.

“This is a testament to President Tinubu’s relentless efforts in repositioning the Nigerian education system at all levels,” the university said in a letter signed by the provost, Dr. Richard Utubaku, and the bursar, Joseph Ogar. We genuinely thank NELFUND for the easy and open distribution procedure.

Abdulkadir Kure University also thanked the intervention, stating that it had greatly alleviated its students’ financial hardships.

In its statement, Adamawa State University promised NELFUND that it would make sure the money was used appropriately. Additionally, the organization asked for an authorized list of the second batch’s shortlisted beneficiaries.

NELFUND reaffirmed its commitment to guaranteeing that no eligible Nigerian student is excluded from higher education because of financial limitations.

“Our goal of giving financial aid to students enrolled in postsecondary schools nationwide is unwavering. To guarantee a broader reach, more disbursements will be made in the upcoming months, so this is just the start,” the statement said.
