NECO 2025 Result: 60.26% Score Credit in English & Math
A total of 818,492 candidates, representing 60.26%, achieved five credits or more, including English Language and Mathematics, in the 2025 Senior Secondary School Examination (SSCE) conducted by the National Examination Council (NECO).
In addition, 1,144,496 students attained five credits or more, regardless of their performance in mathematics and English in the examination.
It is noteworthy that 1,367,310 candidates participated in the examination across the nation, with 680,292 males and 678,047 females among them.
The results were made available 54 days following the completion of the last paper.
While announcing the results at the NECO headquarters in Minna, Niger State, yesterday, the Registrar/Chief Executive Officer, Prof. Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, revealed that 38 schools across 13 states were implicated in examination malpractices.
He stated, “A total of 38 schools in 13 states engaged in widespread cheating, and these schools will be invited for discussions with the council, after which suitable sanctions will be enforced.
Additionally, 3,878 candidates were found to have committed various forms of examination malpractices this year, in contrast to 10,094 candidates from the previous year.”
Wushishi further indicated that nine supervisors were caught engaging in several malpractices, including three in Rivers State, one in Niger, three in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), one in Kano, and one in Osun.
“The supervisors implicated have been recommended for blacklisting due to inadequate supervision, facilitating misconduct, tardiness, inappropriate conduct, assault, and insubordination,” the registrar declared.
He noted that eight schools in Adamawa State were impacted by communal clashes, resulting in the disruption of examinations from July 7 to 25, affecting 13 subjects, 29 papers, and 559 students.
He mentioned that the council had initiated discussions with the state government to conduct examinations for the schools that were disrupted, emphasizing that the results for these schools cannot be released yet because they remain incomplete.
