Katsina: 11 corps members’ service years are extended by NYSC

Eleven corps members in Katsina State have had their service years extended by the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) due to a variety of offenses.

During the 2024 Batch “A” Stream II corps members’ passing-out procession on Thursday, Ibrahim Sa’idu, the state NYSC Coordinator, revealed this.

Sa’idu, who was accompanied by Allen Charles Chisome, the assistant director of human resource management, said the extensions were compliant with the NYSC bylaws.

There were eight male corps members and three females.

In the meantime, 859 corps members finished their duty satisfactorily and without any disciplinary problems. They were commended by Sa’idu, who also asked them to represent the plan well.

He urged corps members to become self-sufficient by applying the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) training they had received.

Additionally, he thanked the Katsina State government for providing corps members with protection and comfort.

Three corps members were honored with state awards during the low-key ceremony: Abdul Fatai Usman Isyaka (KT/24A/2860), Sunday Bose Aladi (KT/24A/2125), and Adanu Theresa Onyeche (KT/24A/1937).

A corps member who died during the service year was remembered with a minute of silence.
