Busted! JAMB Tricks Cheating Candidates with Decoy Website
Since the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, or JAMB, has set up fake websites, candidates who planned to cheat on the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, or UTME, have met their demise.
This is because on Thursday, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) held a mock exam for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) at no less than 211,000 computer-based test (CBT) centers nationwide.
While observing the process at a CBT center in Bwari, Abuja, JAMB Registrar Prof. Ishaq Oloyede said that the mock exam results will be made public on Friday.
The registrar, who stated that studying diligently is the best way to pass the UTME, voiced concerns about certain applicants using pirated websites to cheat on the test. JAMB has also launched a fake website specifically for these individuals.
We must inform the pupils that studying is the best strategy for passing the test, especially the UTME. Some bogus websites that we are aware of invite people to come and pay so they may assist.
“It isn’t possible. Additionally, we launched our rogue website. Additionally, 180 or so pupils have paid as of this morning.
Therefore, such students, since trying to cheat are already against the law. Therefore, we will firmly address any questions from people who deposited money into that account. Additionally, UTME is not a school-based exam for many universities.
“We register each student separately. For this reason, we advise students not to divulge their registration number. Avoid using a proxy to register.
Never divulge your registration number to third parties. Some of these schools wish to boast that their ten kids scored 280. There was a state where nobody was celebrating since even the governor was misinformed. We are therefore aware of this kind of stuff when people try to take shortcuts.
There are roughly 180 of them here. And we will take a tough stance against them. Both the UTME and DE results would be canceled,” Oloyede declared.
“The findings will be available tomorrow. The outcomes will be available. We are now working on the results for those that were completed, but we would like to compare them to those from the second, third, and so forth batches. And make sure everything is operating smoothly. However, they will have the results by tomorrow,” he stated.
Oloyede gave an explanation of the UTME Mock’s objectives, stating that they were to assess the board’s preparedness for the main exam and test out novel approaches to enhance the procedure.
“We want to say that everything is going well so far, and the word is mock.” We want to try a few different things. We are improving along with the pupils’ wisdom.
“Because we are taking specific actions to guarantee that those actions are completed.” Therefore, we are attempting to ensure that we will have gained experience and learned some lessons from our mock-level experience when we take the exam. “So far, so good,” he remarked.
