JAMB Suspends Law Programs in 8 Institutions Over Violations—See Full List!
Following the suspension of the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) program, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that it will no longer accept applications for admission to eight universities’ law programs.
According to a statement in Abuja issued by Dr. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s Public Communications Advisor, the Council of Legal Education (CLE) for the 2025–2026 academic year had stopped law programs for breaking regulations.
Kwara State University, Malete, Kwara State; Bingham University, Karu, Nasarawa State; Redeemers University, Ede, Osun State; and Western Delta University, Oghara, Delta State, were among the universities Benjamin named as being impacted.
Other institutions include Taraba State University in Jalingo, Taraba State; Arthur Jarvis University in Akpabuyo, Cross River State; Alex Ekwueme Federal University in Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State; and the Nigerian Police Academy in Wudil, Kano State. According to Benjamin, suspending the law program at the Nigerian Police Academy in Wudil, Kano State will last for two academic sessions, specifically 2025/2026 and 2026/2027 sessions. “Therefore, JAMB will not approve any admissions for candidates seeking to enroll in the law program at the aforementioned universities for the 2025/2026 academic session.” Additionally, the ban on registration for the Nigerian Police Academy’s law program will continue into the 2026/2027 academic year, he stated.
