JAMB Sets June 28 for 2025 Mop-Up Exam—See If You’re Eligible!

The 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination mop-up exam will take place on Saturday, June 28, 2025, according to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

The board revealed that 96,838 candidates would participate in the mop-up exercise, according to a statement issued on Sunday by Dr. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s Public Communications Adviser.

“These comprise 91,742 candidates who missed the main and retake exams, 5,096 spillover candidates, and those who encountered biometric verification issues during the main UTME.”

In order to get ready for the upcoming exercise, the board recommended that notification slips be printed starting on Monday, June 23, 2025.

It was stated that 183 locations nationwide would host the exam, with a small number of additional applicants being held on standby.

By delisting 113 computer-based test centers found guilty of a variety of violations, including technological flaws and exam malpractice, the board further reaffirmed its dedication to upholding the integrity of its exams.

These centers are being investigated, and those found to be at fault will be prosecuted.

The statement claims that various examination malpractice syndicates, including some school owners, tutorial centers, and even a few JAMB officials, have been uncovered by ongoing investigations.

The board acknowledged the efforts of the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and the State Security Service in exposing examination fraud and identity theft.

These investigations have also led to the deactivation of a number of examination towns.

JAMB has asked for their understanding, as the impacted students will be moved to the closest available exam towns.

“The board warned that institutions of those apprehended would be notified, and violators may face expulsion for breaching their matriculation oath, in addition to prosecution under the Examination Malpractice Act of 1999,” Benjamin said, to combat impersonation, especially by undergraduate students.

Candidates are encouraged to be at their allocated centers at least one hour before the start of the test, as JAMB emphasized that the first session of the exam will start at 8:00 am.

Assuring the public that mop-up exams will be carried out under close supervision with specialized teams of invigilators and security guards stationed to oversee the procedure, the board reiterated its dedication to openness and equity.
