JAMB Set to Announce 2025 UTME Mop-Up Exam Date—Stay Tuned!

On Monday, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) announced that it would set the date for the mop-up exam for applicants who were registered to take the exam at its eight overseas centers and those who were unable to take the 2025 Unified Tertiary and Matriculation Examination because their biometrics failed.

This was revealed by the board in its weekly bulletin, which The PUNCH obtained on Monday.

Candidates who “missed their initial examination due to unacceptable reasons but were granted pardon” would also be permitted to take the mop-up exam, the board noted.

Keep in mind that JAMB previously administered a retest to applicants who encountered issues in Lagos and other Southeast locations.

The notice stated, “We will shortly publish the date for the mop-up exams for applicants who were unable to attend their scheduled 2025 UTME examination.”

“This includes those who registered to take the exam at the board’s eight foreign centers, candidates whose biometrics failed during verification, and others in similar circumstances.”

The board stated that the exam date would be announced this month, but it has not yet provided a precise date.

“The board regularly administers mop-up exams to applicants who have biometric issues and to those who are in foreign locations.

It is recommended that candidates ignore any social media posts that offer precise dates. After the date is set, the board will formally announce it.
