JAMB Schedules Mop-Up UTME for 96,838 Candidates, Delists 113 CBT Centers Over Irregularities!

The 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination mop-up is scheduled for Saturday, June 28, 2025, according to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

The board revealed that 96,838 candidates would be taking part in the mop-up exercise in a statement issued on Sunday by its Public Communications Adviser, Dr. Fabian Benjamin.

The statement said, “These include 91,742 candidates who missed the main and retake exams, 5,096 spillover candidates, and those who had biometric verification issues during the main UTME.”

In order to get ready for the exercise, which will take place in 183 locations nationwide, the board advised printing notification slips starting on Monday, June 23.

By delisting 113 computer-based test centers found guilty of a variety of violations, including technological flaws and exam malpractice, the board further reaffirmed its dedication to upholding the integrity of its exams.

According to the statement, the centers were being investigated, and anyone found to be at fault would be prosecuted.

The statement claimed that several test malpractice syndicates, including school owners, tutoring facilities, and even some JAMB officials, had been uncovered by ongoing investigations.

The State Security Service, the Nigeria Police Force, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps were commended by the board for their efforts in thwarting examination fraud and identity theft.

Affected candidates who were previously allocated to certain deactivated examination towns would be moved to the closest available test towns, according to the announcement.

The board pleaded for comprehension.

“The board warned that institutions of those caught would be notified to combat impersonation, especially by undergraduate students, and that violators may be expelled for violating their matriculation oath in addition to prosecution under the Examination Malpractice Act of 1999.”

As it recommended candidates to attend their allocated centers at least one hour before the test’s start time, JAMB emphasized that the first session of the exam will start at 8:00 am.
