Breaking: JAMB Reschedules 2025 UTME to April 24 — Candidates Take Note!
The 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination has been postponed to April 24 by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
The test was scheduled to start at more than 700 computer-based testing locations nationwide on April 25.
Dr. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, said this in a statement released in Abuja on Saturday.
Approximately 2,030,627 applicants have signed up for the UTME in 2025.
Of these, 41,026 applicants for the test were younger than 16 years old.
This is the most applications the Board has ever received in UTME history.
More than 1.9 million applicants took the UTME last year.
The board instructed candidates to print their notification slips, which include important details about their exam.
The 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will now start on Thursday, April 24, 2025, rather than Friday, April 25, 2025, as previously announced, according to the release. This change has been made to take into account the board’s and its partner agencies’ vital commitments.
Prospective candidates can now print their notification slips, which include important details about their exam, to help them study for the test.

- Duration
- Additional crucial information is needed to take the exam successfully
“As of today, Saturday, April 19, 2025, candidates are urged to print their notification slips. This will give them enough time to make logistical arrangements to reach their designated centers in the selected test towns.
Printing Your Notification Slip: A Guide
- First, go to www.jamb.gov.ng.
- Select “Printing 2025 UTME Slips.”
- Click “Print Examination Slip” after entering your registration number.
At least one or two days before the exam day, candidates are strongly encouraged to print their slips and become acquainted with their testing locations. Exam day will go more smoothly with this preparation.
Timetable of Examination:
To restate, Thursday, April 24, 2025, is when the 2025 UTME will start. To make it easier to get to their centers on test day, candidates are encouraged to print their Examination Notification Slips at least one day before the exam to confirm their exam dates and locations.
“Please be aware that no candidate will be assigned to a center outside of their selected town; instead, they will be assigned to centers within the towns where they have chosen to take the exam.”
