Breaking: JAMB Promises Financial Reward for Candidates Deployed Outside Their Chosen Exam Towns!
Anyone who can present genuine documentation of a candidate posted outside of their selected town for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) would receive a significant financial award from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
Fabian Benjamin, Ph.D., the JAMB Public Communication Advisor, signed a statement on Saturday claiming that some parents are constantly being tricked, misled, and deceived by their children and some secondary school owners who spread the myth that JAMB places applicants in testing locations outside of their selected test towns.
According to him, each candidate is free to select the town where they will be examined, whereas JAMB only assigns candidates within the selected town.
Let it be clear: candidates have the right to choose their preferred examination town at the time of registration, and JAMB then assigns them to a center within that chosen town. The baseless claim that candidates are placed in towns different from their selections is misleading, malicious, and intended only to damage the board’s reputation. He stated, “We firmly believe that some parents are continuously being deceived, misled, and duped by their wards and some secondary school proprietors who continue to propagate the falsehood that JAMB assigns candidates to examination centers outside their chosen examination towns.”
In order to provide transparency and avoid “being a judge in one’s case,” the Board is challenging this false but widely held narrative by offering a handsome financial reward to anyone who can provide authentic proof of just one candidate who is posted outside the candidate’s chosen town. This proof must be sent to the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) WhatsApp Number: 08056003030 within the next 96 hours so that the umpire can ensure that the reward is delivered or that the Board is permanently cleared of the ongoing campaign of slander.
“Similarly, if there is nothing wrong with airlines asking passengers to go to the airport two hours before to departure, then there should be nothing wrong with encouraging applicants to arrive at the CBT centers ninety minutes prior to the start of the test for preliminary verification.
“It appears that many parents are unaware of the necessary preparatory procedures, since they expect their children to spend no more than two hours on the two-hour exam.
The public is urged to trust public agencies and give them the benefit of the doubt, believing that they are there to serve the public interest as best they can. As a government organization, JAMB is always dedicated to the public benefit. Anyone can be persuaded by a trial.
On a lighter note, a female UTME candidate demonstrated yet another level of gullibility when she refused to attempt any questions during this morning’s exam, following her grandfather’s advice to do nothing during the test but wait for divine intervention. Naturally, JAMB does not perform such miracles.
“Candidates are discouraged from having irrational and superstitious dreams of reaping where they did not sow.”
