JAMB, Tertiary Institutions Meet on CAPS & IBASS Integration for Seamless 2025 Admissions
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) introduced principal executives of newly created, improved, and adopted universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education at an interactive session on Monday at the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) headquarters. Discussing the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) regulatory framework and the Integrated Brochure and Syllabus System (IBASS) operations were the main goals of the discussion. The panel also sought to define the appropriate process for hiring applicants for admission in 2025 and 2024 (for those whose commencement date was 2024), according to JAMB registrar Professor Is-haq Oloyede.
“For the benefit of institutions that are entirely new, the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS), created in 2017, is an automated system of processing admissions that ensures transparency, fairness, and inclusivity; eliminates multiple admissions; expands admission opportunities for candidates; provides credible and easily retrievable data for planning purposes; and minimizes human errors,” he said, “because some of the institutions might not have been among the choices available to the candidates during the 2025 (and 2024 too) Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)/Direct Entry (DE) registration.”
