JAMB Finalizes Plans for 2025 Mop-Up UTME—See What to Expect!

The date of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) mop-up exam will be announced by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

Candidates registered for overseas centers and those who missed the first test for other reasons, such as biometric problems during verification, would be accommodated in the exam.

JAMB administration is finalizing arrangements, and the date is expected to be announced this month, according to the information released in JAMB’s bulletin on Monday.

The affected candidates were encouraged by the board to disregard unsubstantiated social media reports and wait for official announcements.

It is recommended that candidates ignore any social media posts that offer precise dates. Once the date is established, the board will formally announce it, according to the bulletin.

Recall that to address the difficulties faced during the 2025 UTME, JAMB’s Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, met with important stakeholders and declared that the mop-up exam would be able to accommodate the anticipated 5.6% of applicants who were unable to take the exam.

He claimed that regardless of the causes of their absence, the board had given all impacted candidates the chance to participate.

For people with one problem or another, we typically host one mop-up across the country.

However, we’re coming up with a fresh mop-up this time. We will give everyone this chance, even those who were unable to attend the previous exam.

“It’s not that we’re doing anything out of the ordinary; you make up exams in class when students miss them for any reason; we just don’t tolerate misuse of that.”
