JAMB Expresses Concern Over Low Turnout for Mop-Up Exam Slip Printing!
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has raised concerns about the low number of candidates re-printing their notification slips for the upcoming make-up Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.
In a statement released on Friday by its spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, the board indicated that only a small percentage of the candidates scheduled had completed the slip-printing process.
“As of Friday morning, only 12,442 out of the 98,232 scheduled candidates had printed their slips, indicating a participation rate of just 12.6%,” the statement indicated.
In light of this, JAMB urged affected candidates, especially those who missed the primary UTME, to act quickly to avoid losing this rare opportunity.
“We strongly advise all candidates, especially those who were unable to take the main examination, to promptly print their notification slips. This is a unique chance for them to participate in this year’s examination,” the board stated.
Reiterating its appeal, JAMB added, “We encourage all candidates who missed their previous exams to reprint their slips to ensure they do not forfeit this opportunity.”
JAMB also reassured the public that sufficient arrangements had been made to facilitate a smooth and inclusive process.
“The Board is actively overseeing the printing process to assess the number of candidates who will attend the examination.
“Additionally, we have allocated both human and material resources to support this exercise, ensuring that all registered candidates can sit for the examination,” the statement concluded.
