Things you should be aware of
According to Nairametrics, during the 2024 Direct Entry registration procedure, the board found 1,665 fake A-Level results.
Of these, 453 were from university degrees, 397 were from colleges of education, and the remaining results were from different A/Level certificates.
Only six of the 148 credentials submitted for direct entry at Bayero University in Kano were discovered to be authentic, leading to heightened inspection and cooperative efforts to combat the threat.
Concerns with higher institutions accepting applicants with phony A/Level results without cross-referencing them via the Central Admissions Processing System have been voiced by the examination board.
Any school found to be accepting students outside of CAPS might be viewed as complicit in the manipulation of results, it said.
