JAMB Explains 2025 Mock UTME Delays — New Features Behind Technical Glitches

The results of the 2025 mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) have been made public by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

April 10 was the day of the 2025 mock UTME, despite lengthy delays and logistical errors.

Candidates who took the optional practice test can now view their results by texting the word “MOCKRESULT” to either 55019 or 66019, according to a statement from JAMB spokesperson Fabian Benjamin.

According to him, the mobile number (SIM card) they used to register should be used to send this.

Every year, JAMB conducts a mock UTME to test new systems and provide potential candidates a chance to become acquainted with the computer-based test (CBT) format before the actual UTME.

At first, 200,115 applicants signed up for the practice test.

But with the removal of two people, this figure dropped to 200,113.

A sizable portion of the applicants, 73,844, did not show up for the test.

Additionally, 88 applicants failed the biometric verification process.

Consequently, 126,181 individuals took the simulated UTME and passed.

Of these, the results for 115,735 candidates have now been made accessible.

According to Benjamin, the mock exam is an essential test run for the UTME, allowing them to test innovations and giving candidates a useful experience of the CBT environment. JAMB has stated that the remaining 10,446 results are currently being processed and will be released in due course. He acknowledged that some candidates encountered delays during the examination, which he said were expected due to the implementation of new features intended to improve the overall conduct of the main UTME.

According to the spokesman, the program has continuously assisted in spotting and resolving possible problems, which has improved candidates’ readiness for the major test.
