JAMB Clarifies Role in NYSC Mobilization for ND, HND Grads
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released an important clarification for graduates of National Diploma (ND) part-time and Higher National Diploma (HND) full-time programs concerning their National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) mobilization.
In an announcement posted on its official X (formerly Twitter) account, @JAMBHQ, on November 6, 2025, the Board stressed that it is not responsible for any delays or challenges affecting NYSC mobilization for students in these categories.
Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board explained that it does not manage admissions into HND programs, meaning it cannot be held accountable for any mobilization issues tied to such admissions. It also noted that although it supervises admissions for full-time ND programs, it does not oversee admissions for part-time ND students.
Part of the Board’s statement read:
“Attention, ND part-time, HND full-time graduates! Please be informed that Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board is not responsible for delaying your NYSC mobilisation. Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board does not regulate admissions into HND programmes, and for ND part-time programmes…”
The clarification follows repeated misconceptions from graduates who often assume that JAMB is the cause of bottlenecks in NYSC mobilization.
JAMB therefore advised affected graduates to contact their institutions and the NYSC directly for accurate guidance and resolution on all mobilization-related issues.
