JAMB CAPS: What is it?

How does JAMB CAPS Work

An automated approach is used by CAPS to match the qualifications and preferences of applicants with the spaces and requirements of the institutions. The UTME score, O-level results, subject combination, duration of study, state of origin, and other relevant data are all taken into consideration by the system. The system creates a list of applicants who qualify for admission to a specific university based on their performance and selection.

Following screening and verification, the institutions receive the list of candidates and have the option to accept or reject them by their standards and regulations. Institutions may also ask JAMB for additional candidates if they have not met their quota or have turned down any applicants. The list of accepted applicants is subsequently uploaded by the institutions to CAPS for final approval.

JAMB completes the final confirmation of admission after verifying that the candidates fulfill the prerequisites for admission to the institution and course of study of their choice. After that, JAMB contacts the candidate by SMS or email and updates their admission status on CAPS. After that, the candidates can check and accept or reject their admission status by logging into CAPS.
