JAMB Debunks April 7 as Deadline for 2025 Direct Entry Registration—Here’s the Real Update!
There have been no reports that the 2025 Direct Entry (DE) registration will close on Monday, April 7, according to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
The Board made it clear that registration, which opened on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, will continue to be available until a new deadline is formally announced in a statement signed by Dr. Fabian Benjamin, its public communication advisor.
“The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) would like to clarify that the 2025 Direct Entry (DE) registration will not be closing on Monday, April 7, 2025, as being speculated.
Starting on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, the registration procedure will run until a closing date is specified. Thus, applicants can register at any Professional Registration Center (PRC) approved by the Board starting Monday and continuing till the official closing date is announced, according to JAMB.
Examining phony outcomes
The current registration period is being loosened, according to JAMB, to facilitate inquiries into candidates who have been found or suspected of fabricating their A-Level results.
The statement claims that several candidates are being investigated or have been detained for trying to influence the electoral process.
“By extending the registration period, the board can finish up investigations into candidates who have been arrested or are being investigated for trying to register using phony A-level results.
The Board said, “We strongly advise candidates with questionable credentials to not attempt to register, as the Board has taken steps to identify individuals with such credentials, both now and in the future.”
Previous offenders are not exempt.
Additionally, the board issued a warning to everyone who has previously been admitted using falsified results. It is recommended that these people voluntarily leave before the law catches up with them.
Benjamin continued, “We encourage you to voluntarily withdraw if you have previously used fraudulent results, as the board is expanding its investigations to include students who have already been admitted.”
The action taken by JAMB coincides with heightened scrutiny of the accuracy of academic credentials provided throughout Nigerian admissions procedures.
Things you should be aware of
