JAMB Deploys 10,000+ Supervisors to Ensure Smooth Conduct of 2025 UTME!

In order to oversee this year’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME), the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has sent over 10,000 staff to 887 locations nationwide.

In addition, the board assigned additional staff to oversee the examination’s conduct. This was revealed by JAMB spokesperson Dr. Fabian Benjamin during a discussion titled “2025 UTME: Lessons from Mock Test and the Future of Tech-Driven Examination in Nigeria,” which was hosted by the Education Writers Association of Nigeria (EWAN).

Speaking at the virtual program, committee chairman Iyabo Lawal clarified that the association’s goal is to encourage conversation on pressing challenges in the education sector and investigate solutions.

About two million candidates are taking the test this week, and Mojeed Alabi, the chairman of EWAN, stated that the discussion is about their future. He emphasized that Nigerians must be aware of the examination body’s level of preparation.
“The process is designed in such a way that students themselves select examination towns, and the board then allocates them to centers within that locality,” Benjamin said, refuting the claims that JAMB was sending candidates to centers far from their locations.

“What we make sure of is that we don’t want one center in an examination town,” he stated. You could be assigned to any of the offices located inside the examination town, as there must be a minimum of four centers permitted there.

887 computer-based test (CBT) centers throughout the federation will administer the exam. More than two million candidates are taking part in the exercise, according to The Guardian.

Eleven locations throughout the nation will host no fewer than 501 visually impaired applicants to take the test. Professor Emeritus Peter Okebulola, the chairman of the JAMB Equal Opportunity Group (JEOG), stated this to reporters in Abuja.
