“Prioritize Our Future!” — Ondo Students Urge Government to Invest More in Education

To quicken the state’s rate of growth, the leadership of Ondo students, acting through the National Association of Ondo State Students (NAOSS), has tasked the state government with increasing funding for the education sector.

During the inauguration of Comrade Alade Temitope Tosin as the new executive president of the student association, Hammed Oyelade, the outgoing national president of NAOSS, made this declaration in Akure, the state capital.

Oyelade, who praised the state government for its substantial investment in education and for making life easier for students by promptly paying bursaries and scholarships, underlined the need for the state government to put policies in place that will guarantee sufficient funding for the education sector. He also claimed that some of the state government’s educational reforms had a positive effect on students’ lives.

In particular, he expressed gratitude to the state governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for his support of the education sector. He urged the association’s new leadership to work with the government to advance education in the state.
The election was the most peaceful and credible in the association’s history, according to Timilehin Olowookere, the chairman of the electoral committee, who also noted that legitimate students from Ondo State and other national regions took part.
Among the recently elected executive members are Senate President Oyesaanu Fayowole, Vice President Arafat Mohammed, General Secretary Agbeni Kehinde, Assistant General Secretary Ajaman Dein Desmond, Treasurer Ajisola Kehinde, Financial Secretary Elijah Segun, and Public Relations Officer Ganiyu Yusuf.

Ajayi Isreal Olusegun is the Chief Whip; Odunayo Folashade Adeniyi is the Director of Socials; Agboola Olakunle is the Director of Special Duties; Olasegiri Bode is the Director of Sports; and Saliub Shina is the Deputy Senate President.
