How to Apply for ASUU’s N200,000 Scholarship Award 2025

The ASUU Indigent Scholarship Award 2024/2025 grants financial help to students in public colleges. Each beneficiary will receive ₦200,000, with two students picked from each university branch. Continue reading to find out the requirements, eligibility, and application process.

For underprivileged students enrolled in public universities throughout Nigeria, the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has launched a scholarship program.

For individuals who fulfill the conditions, this initiative seeks to offer financial assistance.

Information about the Scholarship

  • Amount per beneficiary: ₦200,000
  • Number of beneficiaries: Two students per branch

Rules for the Award

  • The grant is for established impoverished students.
  • Each branch will form a committee to oversee the selection.
  • Each branch will launch a call for applications to the general public.
  • Candidates will be contacted, and applications will be reviewed by the committee.
  • Each branch will have two candidates chosen by the committee.
  • Following confirmation by Congress, the National Secretariat will receive the chosen names.
  • Unless the zone is hosting the next NEC, the award will be given at the zonal level; otherwise, it will be handed out at the national level.

Qualifications for Eligibility

Applicants must:

  1. Be indigent.
  2. Be registered students in universities with ASUU branches.
  3. Have a CGPA of 3.0 or higher.

Method of Use

Applicants should write a letter of application (not more than two pages) that includes:

  • Full name.
  • Course and year of study.
  • State of origin.

The letter must include the following documents:

  1. A photocopy of a valid student ID card.
  2. A letter from the Head of Department showing the applicant’s CGPA for the last academic session.
  3. A copy of the registration form for the current semester.
  4. Two recent passport photographs.

 

Submission Deadline

By January 24, 2025, all branches must finish the selection procedure and turn in the names of the recipients.

The 2024/2025 award cycle will not include any branch that does not achieve this deadline.
