Their portals started showing “fake admission,” even though they had accepted their offers years prior and were listed on the matriculation list.

In April 2024, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) reported the admissions of thousands of graduates from Nigerian colleges as fraudulent, preventing them from being mobilized for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

A week before the mobilization for Batch B Stream 1 was scheduled to start, several impacted graduates told SaharaReporters on Tuesday that some 14,000 people had their records abruptly locked on the JAMB Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).
