FUNAAB Post-UTME/DE Deadline Extended for 2025/2026

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has officially declared that the deadline for its Post-UTME and Direct Entry (DE) applications for the 2025/2026 academic year has been extended. Originally set to close sooner, the application period will now remain open until Friday, August 22, 2025. This decision illustrates the institution’s dedication to ensuring that all qualified candidates have the opportunity to apply without facing unnecessary obstacles.

As stated by the university’s management, the extension was prompted by the need to support candidates who experienced delays in obtaining their academic results, along with those who encountered technical issues while trying to finalize their applications. The management highlighted that many candidates reported problems such as slow internet connectivity and challenges in uploading necessary documents on the application portal.

Moreover, the university noted that the extension also serves as a chance for candidates who have only recently had their O-Level or A-Level results released. These candidates, unable to meet the previous deadline, now have sufficient time to complete their applications and ensure they don’t miss out on the admission process. With this initiative, FUNAAB aims to foster inclusivity and fairness in its admission procedure.

FUNAAB clarified that this extension is not limited to applicants who previously began but could not finish their application. It is also available for brand-new candidates who are just starting their application process. The university called on all interested candidates who meet the eligibility criteria to take advantage of this valuable opportunity, indicating that this revised deadline is likely the final one, with no further extensions anticipated.

Additionally, the institution emphasized that the application process will continue to be conducted entirely online, encouraging candidates to meticulously follow the provided instructions to avoid mistakes that could impact their chances. Applicants are advised to ensure that all personal information, academic credentials, and payment confirmations are accurately completed and uploaded before submission. The management reassured candidates that the university’s ICT unit has implemented measures to minimize technical issues going forward.

The announcement has brought relief to many prospective students and their parents, especially those worried about missing the chance for admission in the 2025/2026 session. Education stakeholders have praised FUNAAB for showing awareness of students’ needs and for taking a flexible stance regarding its admission process. They argue that this decision reinforces the university’s reputation for accommodating student-friendly policies.

Furthermore, FUNAAB reiterated its dedication to maintaining transparency and merit in its admission process. The institution affirmed that all applications will undergo thorough evaluation, and only those candidates who meet the specified cut-off marks and criteria will be eligible for admission. Thus, the extension does not compromise standards but rather expands access for deserving students.

With the new deadline established, the university has urged prospective applicants to proceed without delay and finalize their applications well ahead of the closing date. FUNAAB cautioned that late submissions after August 22, 2025, will not be accepted under any circumstances, with candidates who do not comply automatically losing their opportunity to enter the admission process for the academic session.
