The Federal University of Health Sciences, Ila-Orangun (FUHSI) has released the approved departmental cut-off marks for the 2026/2027 admission exercise. The figures are aggregate screening benchmarks for the university’s undergraduate programmes, including Medicine and Surgery, Nursing Science, Medical Laboratory Science and Doctor of Physiotherapy.

FUHSI’s official admissions page now carries the cut-off table and separates the figures into Merit, Osun, Oyo, Ondo, Ogun, Ekiti and Lagos categories. Candidates who took part in the 2026/2027 Post-UTME or Direct Entry process should use the table to compare their screening aggregate with the programme and category that applies to them.

Important: Meeting a cut-off mark does not automatically mean that FUHSI has offered admission. Candidates must still wait for the official admission decision and monitor the university portal and JAMB CAPS.

Which programmes have the highest FUHSI cut-off marks?

Medicine and Surgery has the highest benchmark in the published table. The Merit cut-off is 81.3%, while the listed state categories range from 72.2% for Lagos to 80.3% for Osun. Nursing Science follows with a Merit benchmark of 75.4%; its listed state figures range from 70.3% for Lagos to 74.5% for Ondo.

Doctor of Physiotherapy has a Merit cut-off of 73.3%, and Medical Laboratory Science has a Merit cut-off of 72.2%. The lower benchmarks in the table are 50.0% for Microbiology and Biotechnology and Molecular Biology across all seven listed columns, and 50.3% for Biochemistry.

These are not ordinary JAMB scores out of 400. FUHSI presents them as percentages of the aggregate screening score. Candidates should therefore use the score shown in their FUHSI screening result or the calculation explained in the university’s official admissions guidance, rather than comparing the table directly with a UTME mark.

How to read the Merit and state columns

Start by identifying your intended programme, then locate the column that matches your admission category. The official table lists Merit and the Osun, Oyo, Ondo, Ogun, Ekiti and Lagos categories. If your category is unclear, contact FUHSI through the official channels or wait for the next university instruction instead of guessing.

For example, a Nursing candidate in the Lagos column should compare the aggregate screening score with 70.3%, while an applicant being considered under the Merit column should use 75.4%. The same process applies to MBBS, Medical Laboratory Science, Physiotherapy and every other programme in the table.

A score at or above the applicable benchmark means the candidate has reached the published screening threshold for that category. It is not a promise of admission because the university still has to apply its admission process, available spaces, programme requirements and any other rules stated in the official notice.

FUHSI screening result and cut-off mark are different

FUHSI released its 2026/2027 Post-UTME screening results before this cut-off update. Candidates should keep the two announcements separate:

Item What it tells you What to do
Screening result Your screening performance has been processed and a result slip can be viewed. Sign in, download and print the result slip.
Departmental cut-off mark The aggregate benchmark for a programme and admission category. Compare your screening aggregate with the correct table entry.
Admission offer The university and JAMB have approved a place for you. Follow only the official acceptance and clearance instructions.

The current FUHSI portal may still show that a candidate has not been offered provisional admission. That message should not be treated as a final rejection while the university is still processing the 2026/2027 admission exercise. Likewise, a candidate should not pay an agent because someone claims to have access to an unpublished list.

Who should check the FUHSI cut-off table?

  • Candidates who participated in the FUHSI 2026/2027 Post-UTME screening exercise.
  • Direct Entry candidates who completed the FUHSI admission process.
  • Applicants who already checked their screening result and want to understand the next stage.
  • Parents and guardians helping candidates verify an admission update.

FUHSI’s general admission guidance requires candidates to meet the relevant O’Level conditions. For the listed health programmes, candidates should pay attention to the required English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology credits and any one-sitting rule for competitive courses. The departmental aggregate threshold does not cancel those entry requirements.

What to do after checking your FUHSI cut-off mark

  1. Open the official FUHSI admissions page. Use fuhsi.edu.ng/admissions.html and review the table carefully.
  2. Check your screening result. Sign in through the FUHSI admission portal under Returning Applicants, then open My Admission and choose Check Screening Result.
  3. Confirm the correct category. Match your programme and state category with the published table. Do not use a neighbouring programme’s cut-off mark.
  4. Keep your documents ready. Save the screening result slip, application form, JAMB details and O’Level records in both digital and printed form.
  5. Monitor the next admission update. Check the FUHSI portal and your JAMB CAPS profile for an official offer or further instruction.

There is no universal deadline for checking the cut-off table stated in the current FUHSI notice. Candidates should still check promptly because later admission, acceptance or clearance instructions may carry their own deadlines. The absence of a cut-off-checking deadline is not permission to delay.

FUHSI admission fraud warning

Use only the university website and portal for admission instructions. FUHSI warns that it does not collect payment through individuals, agents or private accounts. A message promising a guaranteed admission, a changed screening score or an early admission list is not a substitute for an official FUHSI or JAMB update.

Do not share your portal password, JAMB password, payment PIN or full identity documents with an agent. If you experience a portal or result problem, use the admissions and helpdesk contacts displayed on the official portal and keep evidence of the error.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. FUHSI’s official admissions page now lists approved aggregate cut-off marks for its 2026/2027 undergraduate programmes and admission categories.

What is FUHSI’s cut-off mark for Medicine and Surgery?

The published Merit benchmark for Medicine and Surgery is 81.3%. The listed category figures include 80.3% for Osun, 79.7% for Oyo, 79.8% for Ondo, 76.1% for Ogun, 79.4% for Ekiti and 72.2% for Lagos.

No. The published figures are aggregate screening percentages. Candidates should compare them with the appropriate FUHSI screening aggregate, not directly with a UTME score out of 400.

Does meeting the FUHSI cut-off guarantee admission?

No. It means the candidate has reached the published threshold for the programme and category. Admission still depends on FUHSI’s full admission process and the later official offer through the recognised channels.
