Important update: The Federal University, Gashua (FUGASHUA) has announced its Post-UTME and Direct Entry screening exercise for the 2026/2027 academic session. Online screening is scheduled to open on Monday, 7 September 2026 and close on Wednesday, 7 October 2026.
The university published the notice on 5 September and says eligible candidates should complete the process through its official admission channel. The screening is for candidates who applied for FUGASHUA degree programmes and includes both UTME and Direct Entry applicants.
At the time of this desk check on 6 September, the linked admission portal was still displaying the previous 2025/2026 session and saying that applications had closed. That is consistent with the university’s announcement that the new portal will open on 7 September. Candidates should wait for the 2026/2027 option to appear, confirm the session before entering details or paying, and avoid agents or unofficial payment links.

Who is eligible for FUGASHUA Post-UTME?
The official notice lists two main applicant groups:
- UTME candidates: Applicants who scored at least 150 in the 2026 UTME and applied for admission into FUGASHUA degree programmes.
- Direct Entry candidates: Applicants who selected FUGASHUA as their first-choice institution and hold Lower Credit or above in HND or ND, Credit or Merit in NCE, or at least six points in IJMB.
Meeting the minimum score does not guarantee admission. Candidates must still satisfy the requirements for their chosen programme, provide accurate records and complete the university’s screening process. FUGASHUA will handle admission consideration in line with its programme requirements and the JAMB admission process.
FUGASHUA screening fee and deadline
The university’s notice states that candidates are to pay ₦2,000 for registration. It gives the application period as 7 September to 7 October 2026. The notice does not state a separate closing time, so candidates should not wait until the final day or assume that a portal remaining accessible after the deadline represents an extension.
As of 6 September, the deadline was 31 calendar days away. This gives eligible applicants reasonable time to prepare their credentials, confirm their course information and complete the online process after the correct 2026/2027 portal session becomes available.
What to prepare before the portal opens
FUGASHUA’s registration instructions require information and documents that candidates should assemble in advance:
- JAMB registration number;
- first name, surname, email address and a valid phone number;
- UTME first-choice and second-choice institution details;
- UTME subject combination and score;
- recent passport photograph;
- five relevant O’Level credits, including Mathematics and English Language, in not more than two sittings;
- O’Level result details, including the relevant examination information;
- scanned copies of certificates and results; and
- for Direct Entry applicants, details and grades from the post-secondary institution attended.
Awaiting-result candidates can update their O’Level information later, according to the notice. However, candidates should ensure that their final result information is correctly entered and uploaded as soon as it becomes available. They should also confirm any programme-specific requirements before selecting a course.

- Enter your UTME details, O’Level results and, where applicable, Direct Entry qualifications.

Important portal and payment warning
The official notice directs candidates to the FUGASHUA website, while the university’s own admission page links its Post-UTME portal to fugashua.admissions.cloud. Use these official routes and confirm that the page shows the 2026/2027 exercise before paying.
Do not pay an agent to create an account or claim to secure admission. Do not send the ₦2,000 fee to a personal bank account, WhatsApp contact or social-media promoter. Keep your payment receipt, confirmation email and application slip. If the portal has not yet switched to 2026/2027 on 7 September, recheck through the university’s official website and contact the listed support channel rather than using a third-party link.
Will FUGASHUA conduct a physical screening or test?
The current notice confirms online registration but does not provide a fixed physical-screening or aptitude-test date. It says candidates may be invited for physical screening or an aptitude test at a future time. Candidates should complete the online process first and monitor their registered email, phone number and the official university website for any later schedule.
What candidates should do after submitting the form
- Print or save the application slip and payment evidence.
- Check that the application status shows successful submission.
- Keep the phone number and email used during registration active.
- Upload or verify O’Level results on JAMB CAPS where required.
- Monitor the FUGASHUA portal and JAMB CAPS for screening, admission or further instructions.
- Do not treat a completed screening form as an admission offer. Admission must still be processed through the approved institutional and JAMB channels.
