About UNN

 

The University of Nigeria, commonly referred to as UNN, is a federal university located in Nsukka, Enugu State, Eastern part of Nigeria. Founded by Nnamdi Azikiwe in 1955 and formally opened on 7 October 1960.

Department of Computer Education| Faculty of Education

 

 

Computer science education or computing education under the faculty of Education is the field of teaching and learning the discipline of computer science, and computational thinking.

 

The field of computer science education encompasses a wide range of topics, from basic programming skills to advanced algorithm design and data analysis.

 

 

 

 

 

Admission Requirements for Computer Education

 

 

 

(a)       UTME

 

4-Year Degree Program

 

The candidate must possess five O-Level credits, which must include:

 

English Language, Physics or Mathematics in WASC/SSCE/NECO/GCE O-Level/NABTEB and any three of the following subjects, Chemistry, Biology/ Agricultural Science, Economics and Geography at WASCE/SSSCE/NECO/GCE/NABTEB, obtained at not more than two sittings.

 

 

 

(b)       Direct Entry (DE)

 

3-Year Degree Program

 

Any of the following:

 

  • GCE A/Level or its equivalent with passes in Physics and Mathematics.

 

  • HND in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or any Computer related studies with lower credit from any recognized Polytechnic.

 

  • Diploma in Computer Education of UNN or National Diploma of any other recognized institution.

 

  • A minimum of pass in NCE Computer Education plus credit in Mathematics or Physics and Credit in the English Language in WASC/GCE O/Level SSCE/NECO/NABTEB.

 

A Bachelor of Science (B. Sc) from UNN or any other university recognized by UNN in any science discipline.

 

 

 

 

Jamb UTME Subjects Combination for Computer Education:

 

 

Below is the UTME/JAMB Subjects Combinations for Computer Education;

 

English Language, Mathematics, Economics/Commerce plus one (1) of Chemistry/Physics/Biology.

 

 

 

 

O-level (WAEC, NECO, e. t. c) Subjects Combination for Computer Education:

 

Candidates must possess at least five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include Mathematics, English Language, Physics, and any two (2) from Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, Economics and Geography.
