The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has declared a four-week warning strike beginning from Monday, February 14, 2022 to press home its demands from the government.
ASUU President, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke, made the declaration at a press conference in Lagos after the union’s two-day National Executive Council meeting.
He said the strike takes effect from Monday, February 14, 2022, would last for an initial period of four weeks.
Recall that the union has been agitating for a number of demands including the payment of Earned Academic Allowance, revitalization fund, the replacement of the Integrated Personnel Payroll Information System, IPPIS, with the University Transparency and Accountability System UTAS, among others.
