JAMB 2025: 29 Less Competitive Courses in Nigeria & Their Cut-Off Marks—Boost Your Admission Chances!

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) announced on Tuesday that the minimum cut-off mark for university admissions in Nigeria for the 2025 academic year is set at 150.

This conclusion was reached during the board’s annual policy meeting on admissions, held at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja.

JAMB specified that the minimum benchmark for nursing colleges is 140, while colleges of education and agriculture will accept candidates with scores from 100 and above.

During the policy meeting, which gathers stakeholders from tertiary institutions across the country, the previous admission cycle was assessed, and new guidelines for the upcoming one were established. Institutions also have the option to suggest higher cut-off marks for certain courses or programs, provided they do not fall below the approved minimum.

JAMB reiterated that there is no universal cut-off mark for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) that applies to all institutions, highlighting that universities, polytechnics, and colleges maintain the right to set their standards based on their specific needs.
