JAMB Technical Officers Applaud Registrar Oloyede for Outstanding Leadership and Reforms
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board’s (JAMB) Chief Technical Advisors (CTAs) have praised Registrar Is-haq Oloyede for his “exemplary leadership” in managing the technical issues that impacted the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The CTAs praised the registrar’s prompt and open response to the event and conveyed their unshakable support in a letter to Professor Oloyede.
Ibrahim Abdullahi signed the letter on behalf of the Chief Technical Advisors (CTAs) of the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The FCT and all 36 states’ UTME technical coordination are managed by the CTAs.
The board had widely criticized the technical issue that impacted the results of over 300,000 candidates in Lagos and the South-East.
However, the CTAs praised Mr. Oloyede for his honesty, moral character, and modesty in admitting to the problem and taking prompt action to resolve it.
In order to preserve the integrity and legitimacy of upcoming exams, they promised ongoing technical assistance and reaffirmed their commitment to the board.
Additionally, they gave the public the assurance that every attempt is being made to enhance the system and fill up the holes.
The CTAs stated in their letter, which this publication was able to view, “Your determination to maintain the UTME’s credibility, even in the face of adversity, continues to inspire confidence in the system.”
“These swiftly followed actions demonstrate a dedication to both technical accuracy and a moral duty to ensure justice and fairness for all candidates.”
Additionally, they denounced attempts by certain persons to impose sectional or religious interpretations on what they characterized as a strictly technical issue.
They claimed that such polarizing stories are detrimental and take attention away from the continuous professional attempts to enhance the test procedure for the good of all Nigerians.
2025 UTME glitch
Earlier, JAMB acknowledged that a technical glitch had impacted the scores of more than 370,000 applicants in 157 locations in Lagos and the southeast.
Following considerable concerns over candidates’ poor scores, the board encouraged stakeholders to review the findings, which led to the admittance.
The board announced a rescheduled UTME for the impacted candidates and ascribed the issue to a faulty software update.
