Fake Alert! JAMB Disowns Viral Messages Urging Candidates to Reprint Exam Slips

According to a statement released by its spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, JAMB has no exams planned and students who have successfully finished the retake exam and received their results shouldn’t worry.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has asked UTME applicants to reprint their slips for a retake exam after rejecting a “spoof” of its logo that was making the rounds.

There are no planned exams, according to JAMB spokesperson Fabian Benjamin, so applicants who have successfully finished the retake exam and got their results shouldn’t worry.

According to the statement, “Such messages are fraudulent and intended to sow confusion.”

According to JAMB, the only tests it intends to administer are not yet scheduled.

The board announced that it would be holding foreign examinations in nine different countries in Europe, the Middle East, and some African countries.

Additionally, the board announced that it would administer a mop-up exam to candidates who were unable to attend the main exam and retake it.

“We implore the public to ignore these misleading communications. Once preparations are complete, those who meet the requirements for the mop-up exam will be appropriately informed,” it continued.

UTME 2025

Of the two million candidates that registered for the 2025 UTME, more than 1.9 million took the Computer-Based Test (CBT).

However, following significant objections from candidates who claimed to have fared better than their results indicated, the board discovered a malfunction that impacted the results of 300,000 candidates in 157 CBT centers in Lagos and the Southeast.
