JAMB to Release UTME Re-sit Results for 379,000 Candidates This Wednesday — Check Your Score!
The results of 379,000 applicants who took the postponed Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will be made public by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on Wednesday, May 20.
After several complaints about both technical and human mistakes in the first UTME exam, a retest was held between Friday and Monday.
According to Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, 379,997 candidates were impacted, including 206,610 in 65 Lagos centers and 173,387 in 92 South-East centers.
JAMB acknowledged systemic shortcomings and stated that the issues required rescheduling the test.
When the board’s registrar, Oloyede, announced a makeup exam for the impacted candidates, he openly took responsibility and even fell down in tears.
More than 1.5 million of the 1,955,069 applicants who took the original UTME received scores below 200 out of 400, raising questions about the exam’s fairness and reliability.
Dr. Fabian Benjamin, a JAMB official, stated that the results of the retest would be made public on Wednesday.
Benjamin stated, “On Wednesday, the results of the candidates who took the rescheduled exam will be released.”
