Emotional Moment as JAMB Admits Errors in UTME — Registrar Breaks Down in Tears
The 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) contained mistakes, which the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has acknowledged.
The board’s registrar, Ishaq Oloyede, said this on Wednesday at a news conference in Abuja. Oloyede expressed emotion when he remarked, “I apologize for the trauma caused to the candidates.”
“One or two mistakes have changed what should have been a joyful moment,” Oloyede stated.
“We set all machinery in order; regardless, there were still errors,” he said.
This comes after JAMB acknowledged receiving an abnormally high volume of complaints about disparities in candidates’ test results.
Recall that out of 1.9 million applicants who sat the UTME, nearly 1.5 million got below 200 out of the possible 400 marks.
After the exam’s mistakes were revealed, the registrar also started crying.
