Shocking Revelation: 96% of A-Level Results Used for Direct Entry in BUK Are Fake — JAMB Cries Out!

96% of the A-level results that were submitted to Bayero University, Kano (BUK), for direct entry admission in 2024 were falsified, according to information released by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
In its bulletin, the examining board said that just six of the 148 A-level results that were submitted to BUK were authentic, with the other 142 being fraudulent. During standard screening and verification, this was discovered.
In light of this finding, JAMB has advised universities to independently check all submitted paperwork to stop fraudulent admissions. The Nigeria Integrated Post-Secondary Education Data System (NIPEDS), which was implemented by JAMB two years ago to address this problem, assisted in identifying phony A-level certificates, including those from overseas universities.
According to the agency, NIPEDS has recently detected 13 further phony A-level certificates, some of which have already been used to obtain admission offers. The persons implicated have been turned over to law authorities for additional action, the authority said.
Higher education institutions that accept applicants with falsified credentials risk punishment, according to JAMB’s warning. It emphasized that schools should perform their own checks rather than depending exclusively on NIPEDS for verification.
The organization revealed that, in one instance, a number of candidates attempted to obtain admission by submitting fictitious Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria Interim Joint Matriculation Board Examination (IJMBE) results.
In order to guarantee that only eligible applicants are admitted on the basis of merit, the examination board underlined its commitment to eradicating fraud in the admissions process and asked schools to cooperate.
