2025 JAMB UTME: Nigerians Express Concern Over Students’ Poor Performance Nationwide
The low student performance on the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) has been a source of ongoing frustration for Nigerians.
This follows the announcement of JAMB’s 2025 UTME results on Friday.
Some Nigerians responded by criticizing the candidates’ performance on social media.
Oluwaseun, an X user, bemoaned the youngsters’ weak performance.
A screenshot of a JAMB candidate’s results that showed a score of 295 last year but 132 this year was provided by Oluwaseun.
“There is a major issue with the most recent UTME results.
“Our pupils’ skills, efforts, and performance history are not reflected in these results.
“Egbaze Victoria was told she scored 132 on the UTME last year, even though she scored 295? On X Friday, he wrote, “And many others.”
Chukwuma Pius, another user, called for a review of this year’s JAMB results after sharing a similar experience to Oluwaseun’s.
“Please, JAMB is experiencing a major technical issue this year. As a former educator, I can confirm that my daughter’s result is different from the one that JAMB sent her this morning.
“This is terrible. This is the prize for hard work? He wrote on X, “Compare her to last year, 2025.”
The remarks follow JAMB’s performance breakdown, which revealed that 1.5 million applicants received scores below 200.
Remember how Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential contender in 2023, called for immediate reforms after describing this year’s JAMB results as unsettling?
