JAMB Reacts to Unusual Complaints About 2025 UTME Results — Promises Thorough Review!
On Monday, the Joint Admissions and Matriculationd (JAMB) formally addressed public grievances on the results of the recently announced 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.
The board characterized the complaints as “unusual,” noting that they were from a small number of Federation states.
Although JAMB acknowledged the complaints, it stated that it is expediting its yearly system assessment at this time.
“The board is responding by expediting its yearly system review, which is a thorough post-mortem of the examination procedure carried out every year, months following the exercise.” Fabian Benjamin, the board’s spokesperson, said in a statement.
The three main phases of the board’s yearly review are registration, examination, and result dissemination. JAMB makes certain that each applicant has the chance to take the test during the examination process.
According to the statement, the board promptly reschedules the test for impacted candidates if technical difficulties occur.
“The unique allegations coming from a few states in the Federation are of special concern to us. We are now carefully reviewing these complaints to find and address any possible technical problems.
“We have brought in several experts to help with this process, such as members of the Computer Professionals Association of Nigeria, chief external examiners who are heads of tertiary institutions, the Educational Assessment and Research Network in Africa, measurement experts, and vice chancellors from different institutions. If it turns out that there were issues, we will take the necessary corrective action as soon as possible, just like we do with the exams themselves.”
