Students’ Loan Relief: MAU Begins Refund of Institutional Fees to NELFUND Beneficiaries!
According to Modibbo Adama University, Yola, it has started returning institutional fees to students who have previously received student loan disbursements from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).
Even so, it maintained that it had never verified the student loan deduction.
Muhammad Nur Isma’il, the organization’s information officer, said as much in a statement provided to The Guardian.
About 300 students were affected, according to the statement, which emphasized that discrepancies in account information caused refund delays and required physical verification.
“Refunds are still being processed for the approximately 300 students who were delayed from both batches (Batch A and B).” It was postponed because of various discrepancies found in the account information during the procedure, which led to the need for physical confirmation.
Isma’il also addressed worries that time constraints would prevent graduate students from going back to school for in-person verification.
In order for their reimbursement to be processed, “those who have graduated can send in their details with a statement of result indicating they have actually graduated,” the message continued.
